Against the Gods (Web Novel)

Hey there, this is my first review and the only reason why i write it cause it was my 1-2nd wuxia/xianxia novel( i don't remember, maybe my 1st was a will eternal, nvm) and i have deep feelings for this one. First of all, i should say that my experience in wuxia/xianxia novels is not small, i've read dozens and dozens different novels, mostly of them i didn't finish but still hit more than 1000 chapt in most of them but Xia Qingyue is still my most hated person №1. I won't go into the details but she's ur typo female protagonist that loses her feelings cause of her "cultivation art", the author tries to justify her but compared to her, Sakura (Naruto) is just a saint in relationship. Another question, that in this novel the plotarmor is unbeliebly thick, a story about how mc overcoming himself again and again, but still ''dying'' in the end in most of arcs. Millions of dump silk pants(arrogant young masters). Dropped it at ~1200 chapt(wedding arc), awful reading, would not recomment it to anyone. P. S. thanks to A will eternal cause i was so annoyed by ATG that i almost dropped light novels P. S. S. i've heart it gets better after 1600+ chapters, well, gl for u guys

It is a generic story full of chinese wuxia cliches. The writing is good, there are plenty of memorable scenes. Work has been so succesful that it has both manga and anime going on. Now for the weak parts. The story is repetetive and flat. The cultivation progress from step to step of small realm, to big realm, classical to chinese wuxia model, feels especially bland here. There are changes to characters, but I would not call it as "character growth" or progression, in fact from the very beginning characters are driven by same petty thoughts and greed, as they are driven in "upper" or "god" realms. The setting and decoration changes, but the story repeats same things. Tournament arc, revenge arc, conquer, final battle arc > rinse and repeat. MC collects Harem of all beatiful women he meets. As usual in chinese wuxia novels, there are some bad people who trigger MC or aim at his women (why are all women his, because he is chosen MC ofcourse). When MC pays them back. Uncles of bad people come. Then MC has to save the damsel in distress, but to do so he has to overpower trillions of cultivators. And this kind of forced plot keeps the show running. Overall, it can be fun to read, the writer is skilled, there are plenty of plot turns, humorous or even bedroom scenes, if you are into this particular genre.

Stop reading at 1933 . This novel is 5 star because of Xia qinqyue , qianying , jasmine alone, There are lots of boring *ss fights and like every fight starts with mocking who is this guy nobody haha 2 realm low whatt imposible cheating??Man thats boring so i skipped most of the fights In First 1000 chapter I was realy close to dropping lots of time especially in divine phonix arc like aint no way we forgived man but after ascending its becoming realy good I didint have fun too much but I cried more than once and this is enough for me the rate 5

Honestly, this is probable one of the worst books I've ever read 💀💀, the mc is very naive (and i mean very), he makes very bad decisions in almost all arcs, this book deserves a 1 star but only because of the arc after chapter 1600 it gets a 2 star. His wives always have to sacrifice themself to save him, I cant explain how stupid his decisions are and always end up in disaster, even after everything he still doesn't learn and repeats the same mistakes again and again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This novel is really good I am really hooked up with this novel, the plot the ups and down in this story is just too awesome but still the author has not updated the novel for some months I just hope the author updates the novel and release more chapter

bro i swear the author is built different the mf can make you feel any emotion he wants, I've read all of it and omg i swear its at least RI level or LOTM level in terms of how it just grabs your attention, i don't think I've every felt bored reading a single chapter. On my mama this author is just insane i don't know how he makes the character feel soo alive he makes you lost in his world. Yun Che will forever stay in my heart. 10/10 in everything, a warning if you dont like emotional mc then this novel isnt for u.

I would recommend anyone to read this novel. It has a good opening arc that lets us see the MCs character and qualities, first 50-60~ chapters. Then we have some classics, face slapping, lower cultivation beating higher etc. Author does a good job of planting "hints" throughout the novel. The more chapters we go through, the more plot offers us and makes you think. Romance and Harem is ok, not forced that much but if there is jade beauty she is in the pocket pretty much. Each harem member's characters also pretty good designed and distinct. I would give this novel 4/5 but i will give 5/5 just to raise ratings, this novel deserves it.

The best I've ever read! Trust me, you've never read anything so endearing. Of course, the MC acts in a stupid and sometimes totally incomprehensible way, by sacrificing himself for his wives. . . But it makes the novel even more endearing. This novel has something that I struggle to find in other novels. A lot of people criticize the harem side of things, but it doesn't really bother me. In a world where you can have as many women as you want, I think that's pretty normal. The only negative thing is that the author is very inconsistent about the number of chapters he publishes. . . Trust me, go read !

One of the best stories I've ever seen. It can be complex but fun and exciting. Despite having a harem, each wife has a very long story and her own personality. It's not like other stories where the MC gets a wife in each chapter
