Summary

In this latest work by Lord of the Mysteries author, Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, be prepared for a well-thought out and detailed apocalyptic, cyberpunk world with a setting superseding Lord of the Mysteries!

Our protagonist, Shang Jianyao, is crazy—literally crazy, at least that’s what the doctors said. Living in a huge, underground building of Pangu Biology, one of the few remaining factions in this apocalyptic wasteland known as the Ashlands, he acts in unfathomable ways that’s head-scratching, comical, and shrewd. So is he really crazy? Probably.

He has a grand dream: to save all of humanity.

Intricately tied to this dream is something everyone in the Ashlands believes in: Deep in a particular ruin buried away by danger and famine, a path leading to a new world awaits. To step into the new world, one only needs to find a special key and open that certain door.

There, the land is bountiful, as if milk and honey flows freely.

The sunlight is dazzling, as if all coldness and darkness are washed away.

The people will no longer have to face desolation, monsters, infections, mutations, and all kinds of dangers.

There, children are joyous, adults are happy, everything is fine as they are supposed to be.

Every Antiquarian, Ruin Hunter, and Historian roaming the Ashlands knows: That’s the New World.

Guys can anyone help me with this ? First of all should I read this or would it waste my time and there is better options? Let me tell you what I read : reverend insanity , lotm , Shadow slave , warlock of magus world , The beginning after the end , mother of learning I tried also a little bit of sword god in magic world but I didn't like it and there were alot of bad reviews about it and I decided to read kill the sun for about 350 chapters but I decided to drop it ( so warmaisach's novels is out ) That's all the famous novel I have read ( I have read some other novels but not famous ) I want some action novel with good plot like shadow slave or anything ( doesn't need to be the same type of story) So should I proceed with this novel or anyone have any other recommendations? Sorry for the long comment

It's good but much like most of CF's novels the start is slow. I, myself have only read 46 chaps so far. For other novels you can read I recommend Deep sea embers, Omniscient first person's viewpoint (no, it's not ORV copycat quite different actually), and Jackal among snakes.

Its a crime how little people read this. If i wasn't looking at Cuttlefish's other stories i wouldn't even have known this even existed, which would have been a tragedy. Maybe i need to do some advertising when i reread LotM.

Man I read all the other cf books, but hands down this has the slowest beginning of all of his books combined, even I had trouble getting over the first 100 chapters.

Not yet, but almost there😅, I don't know why, but I can't binge this like some other novels, I've been reading 2 to 3 chapters every night, hopefully I finish it by the end of summer.

It all depends on the individual reader, people say TOMA was slow but I loved the musician and the journey to the magical city arc, I actually enjoyed the first 300 chpaters of that novels the most and started losing intrest the further it went on. So perhaps you might find the beginning of this more enjoyable and fast paced than me and some other people since its a matter of perspective tbh.

nah don't get me wrong the same happened to me, actually i dropped TOMA like 100 chapters before it ended bc the science became too much and I also loved the first few hundred chapters, but it was stupid slow I also loved the first LOTM volume, which most people have to power through, so I love slow starts (if done correctly)

No romance tag, and cuttlefish isn't famous for his romance novels, if he has any. Prob not sadly
