Genetic Ascension

The story seems interesting with a nice plot. I'm at chapter 500 now and at crossroads. I want to keep reading since the story has potential. However, I am starting to get a bit annoyed at his nonsensical skill level ups. When he's in a fight and needs a level up he never earns it. He just as a random "enlightenment" and his skills level up. No explanation or anything just, pop! he understood something about "skill name" and it levels up.

This just reminded me why Awespec will never reach the heights of the greats even though he has several novels with 2000 chapters. GAB is my guilty pleasure and I’ve read most of DD and through reading this I’ve found the problem. Same MC for everything. Hypocrite MC. Awespec never really is there to amaze us with the story but to show off his fantasy power system making skills. Awespec would be better suited to making a WIKI than a novel with how skewed his gifts are. After three almost complete books he still has no idea how to make an OP mc read satisfyingly… The plot is a summary, the relationships are a summary, the factions are a summary. There is no interaction that requires mc to root himself in solid ground and actually interact with the world. If theres one thing awespec knows its flipping over the chessboard. But after three books and 6000 chapters of seeing awespec write flipping chessboard plots I’m just tired.

Except for MC's personality and weird FMC and there relationship, Everything else is Great not just good. Starts off with unexpected system notifications like tower summoning or Virtual game becoming real type novels, you get to explore new world new rules and MC not too much of spoiler misses most of it because Author is always nerfing MC so that the World doesn't become too easy for MC to bully. It's full of struggles, After every reward is a new challenge a new Nerf due to new rules or some new tactics revealed in novel not used before and MC getting caught off guard which happens most of the time because MC wasn't trained by anyone, he is self made, so while he is excellent in combat, he doesn't have enough information to tackle strategies but manages to do so far. Must read. Flaws are minor. 5/5.

This novel has a lot of potential which is why I keep circling back to continue reading. The narration from a mostly a third person omniscient point of view I think is the main issue with this novel where it only follows the protagonist with maybe a brief interlude to another characters perspective. Character development outside of Sylas is non-existent, and the ones introduced might as well not exist at all. The author over uses the 'system' which should just be a plot device, but in my opinion is the real protagonist of this novel. Story is rushed to quickly focus on stat calculations and the system which prevents any sort of immersion. The lack of dialogue between characters tells me the author doesn't care about anything except Sylas and the system. Author has a great imagination and creates an interesting world, but feel this should be written from a first person point of view and shy away from the system a bit.

Awespec always tries to bring overused genres like system and cultivation his unique approach, and ts worked. Bc this is amazing, I think this is the first actually smart MC I've read even though he has his downfalls and shortcomings and a lot of them. I wouldn't give this 5 stars usually but 4 however since I want this to get more publicity I give it maximum

It's is so god d*mn interesting. Like the way he is able to overcome the situations is not just by brute forcing everything but also involves thinking and you don't think like he is super overpowered which in all honesty he becomes kinda but that is later and only compared to the people of his planet because compared to a lot he is still weak

Only started reading a year or two ago but I can say it's a pretty good read, might get slow sometimes but it's worth it to power through it, I'm at chapter 800 right now but from my experience , would recommend

There are so many good things I can say about this novel that I could probably go on for at least an hour. So, lets focus on what's bad. For me personally, I think its power system is a litt- no more than a little complicated. While you can still understand most thing, the stuff about runes is just on another level. Well, that's all I got, I do hope it rises in ranks cause it's just too good

I like this novel. It has a very interesting plot, power system and cadence to it - good enough for me to pause other novels and binge through this. The fights are quite gripping - even when the mc gets unbelievable breakthroughs in the middle of battle. There are some issues that keep it from getting 5. - The power system is over complicated. - The writing quality dips when the topic is romance or thereabouts. - The short chapters are further nerfed by long stats listings and unnecessary analysis. - Many common concepts are twisted so much that test our brains. e. g. , Intelligence, Wisdom, Willpower, etc. , influence things far beyond how we understand those words. Madness is way beyond how we normally understand it. Yet, it is worth reading.
