This evaluation is part of an outburst about the lack of good works of this genre, so it will be extended. Here is the summarized version: This novel took two very good ideas mixing the mysteries of the LoveCraft universe and game isekai and then stuck it up the *ss, making everything shallow and with little reflection on the world created, in other words, a waste. Now I'm going to extend all my hate into 5 parts: 1)The world - Starting with the base, the world that the altar created comes from a game World of Cthulhu where our protagonist is "teleported", in essence it seems that every living being he interacts with is an NPC, I'm not saying that it would be It would be bad if that was the basis of the intention, but several times throughout the story the protagonist is left asking himself "Is it a real world? or a game?" NPC and when the interaction is different from usual the world simply becomes more "realistic", making everything a game and at the same time not, this makes the immersion unpleasant. 2) Power System - This is the worst, besides being a system (That type of system that is a nanny that explains everything around, which is not appropriate in a work of mystery and horror) that simply gives abilities that can refute ancient gods, making no sense at all and with a cr*ppy progression, because every "battle" situation that the protagonist completes gives him many skills/levels and titles, given that it was supposed to be an extremely difficult game, don't you think this is a contradiction of the main premise itself? Furthermore, the system seems to guide the protagonist's path (even though he has "experience in the game") and how to find OP items. In addition, the protagonist gains with this system implants of easy knowledge to use skills or concepts in the world, such as manipulating with mana mastery since being thrown into the other world. All of this causes a complete disregard for the horror and mystery genres, making the world become not only an easy game in the hands of the protagonist but also something unnatural that causes 0 immersion and a silly experience. 3)Gods - I admit that my knowledge is superficial about the LoveCraft universe and I know little about the gods, but even with this little knowledge I can notice the discrepancy with this universe since the protagonist can CHAT CASUALLY WITH ENTITIES that can create timelines /worlds/universes without suffering absolutely anything and finds them as easily as you find a chicken in a coop. This disconnected reality feels like I'm reading a fanfic from this universe but with little or no logic. 4)Protagonist - He was the most "decent" being in the work from a certain perspective, apart from the things said previously that corrupted him, such as the nanny system that plants knowledge in the head, the ease of talking to gods and being transported to another world at indecision about the humans or NPCs around him, he is a decent character because he knows how the game works and uses that to his advantage to escape this doomed world and doesn't try to save it with some sense of justice pulled out of the *ss, which in my eyes It's very realistic and a good goal. 5)Waste - If you've read this far, thank you and go wash the slate, you bum. I'll be honest here, when I saw the cover and read the synopsis I hoped that I found something that came close to LOM, even if it didn't have such an impeccable world-building and a well-defined and used power system, I thought it could be a It was a pleasure to read, but it was totally the opposite, both in terms of the genre and the plot itself, I sincerely hope that this novel becomes a turning point in this author's life and that it can be used as a career mistake that causes an evolution in both writing and ideas.

The plot of the novel is intriguing, but it's frustrating that the other NPC characters still behave as if they're in a game world rather than reality. Another issue with the novel is that it never truly captures the feeling of being in the real world; instead, it constantly feels like being in a game.

I would say this novel is exactly perfect for casual readers who wants some nice action with elderich horrors without heavy plot that will fry your brain and soul. Power system of this novel is nothing unique except for sanity check which is really interesting concept, world building is hard to judge as there are only 94 chapters but i can say that it reminds me horrror games and author did good job with that, there is probably only no more than 6 side characters that have some influence over story but so far its minimal which is something i personally would like to change. Each character is somehow mystery as author does not really focus on character backround yet, there are some stuff that author hinted which i hope he will explore later in the story. In terms of romance we have no romnace and i sincerely doubt it will change in future. I would advise you to read this story if you are looking for something to read in spare time.

Would give a 4. 5 but can't so i rounded up. The novel itself has an interesting concept. The lovecraftian aspect works so well with it being an isekai and the entire story reads like a Call of Cthulhu campaign. The scalability is also there due to just how insane the mythos its based on gets. My sole critique of this novel would be the world-building. While the world is very large and filled with diverse creatures and scenes, we are not shown much of that. For the most part, this novel merely follows the main character's journey to power. We aren't shown the situation in any other country, or even in different districts in the country that he is in. We are not told how life is like in the slums or the noble residences, for example. But this is not a large demerit because following the main character alone is enough.

I rather like it, surprisingly. The MC is intelligent, the magic is satisfying, and the horror is suitably lovecraftian. It's not hardcore crazy in any sense of the imagination---the MC seems to get off lightly every time because of his knowledge and his character's parameters (aka plot armor). It can also be formulaic at parts if you're decently familiar with the supernatural genre. But hey, it tells a nice story. I wasn't bored or dissatisfied throughout, and ultimately, I read it in a single sitting. Hence the rating. Go into it without expectations and you may just find something for your library.

the story reminds me so much of bloodborne. the story telling is decent and is quite good in my opinion. the genre might be a bit overused at this point but if you want a good read then this one is for you.

Classic Korean novel where MC gets transported to game world which he has spent thousand of hours playing the game. He has a class which gives him random phobias. Also, surprisingly, it doesn’t take place in an academy. There also doesn’t seem to be any romance and it has a lovecraftian aspect, if you couldn’t tell by the title. It’s definitely better than most of the Korean novels where the dense MC gets a huge harem in the academy, but it also features the cliches of him gaining a secret piece that only he knows of and something going wrong, which give him extra rewards. Translation and pacing seem to be great til the point where I have read so far. I’d give it a 7/10. I actually like the game setting, but my tastes are a bit weird. Minus points because I expected a completely batshit insane MC, but he’s pretty alright.
