Probably the best novel I’ve read on here. I started sword god a while ago and didn’t like it and since I am up to date on this I decided to read LITOW and I am enjoying it but nowhere near as much as this. It’s unique in basically every way. I’ve probably read LITOW 5 times just with a few name changes and practically the same premise. I honestly don’t care if it’s a copy or it was copied because that doesn’t make it any less repetitive to read a story that I’ve already seen. Every other novel, the MCs “character development” is a small setback which they immeasurable overcome but Kill The Sun handles it’s MCs growth in a way I’ve never seen before and I can’t stop reading it.
Awesome. Well written characters, engaging plot, deep worldbuilding, and not afraid to shake things up. There's never a point you think 'this chap is filler'. Definitely read. @540 rn
Currently on chap. 180 !!! BEWARE this novel can be explicit and raw with matters such as rape, t*rt*r*, depression and suicide !!! That aside, it seems to be very well written and well thoght out. Characters are consistent and will follow their own moral values. They are no 1 or 2 dimensional characters, which are super common on this website. The world and lore are very unique and refreshing. There's this new magic based on singular powers and these new creatures that represent or grant those powers. I have not read anything like it before. Main character starts as 16 y old a kid that knows nothing, and thus will make mistakes and pay the price. No plot armour, no "I do everything right 'cause I'm the MC".
This is a very interesting and enjoyable novel. The magic system is quite unique and fascinating. The MC is also rather unique, a "For the Greater Good" type. Compared to the usual hero or villain protagonists, I find him refreshing.
I wouldn't really give any story that's not on par with like lotm a 5 star. anyways, the bad. I believe one of the biggest reasons people hate on this story is because of the fact that nick (mc), at least from like chapter 70 to 360 or 400 something, has a very twisted and hypocritical mindset. Furthermore, is also depressed because of the hypocritical actions he has done. He is also very prone to self destructiveness and the way he does things is pretty off-putting to most, at least from the comments I have read. And I have read the comments on just about every single chapter. The choices he makes are not thought through and in the end, implicates everyone around him, and causes him to either bottle it all up which just lead to him having depression for a pretty long time. Furthermore he is very hypocritical in his actions which also end up f*ck*ng his mentality and mindset even more than it already is. There is a lot more I could go into but its just a pain, and its stuff I cant talk about without adding a spoiler tag. Anyways, the good. Personally, this story has a lot of potential, and the only reason I wouldn't rate the story higher is because of the mc, but one good thing about him is the fact that he does want to redeem himself, I mean hes literally been yapping about redeeming himself ever since chapter like 110. Anyways, his mentality and mindset has gotten better, at least from what I could tell from chapter 400 onwards, I mean it is still pretty bad but its at a point where he is redeemable if the author doesn't continue writing him in a way where he imitates Shang from his other book or etc. Ultimately, he does want to redeem himself and save humanity. I wont go too much into this but he has a very consequentialism mindset, as in "end justify the means". one of the things liked the most about this novel is the worldbuilding, personally I believe it has so much potential, and this isn't just because I love post-apocalyptic books. Furthermore the power system is very unique, I haven't really seen anything like it and it gives the author so much room for experimentation and ideas. The world has unique specters (monsters) that are kind of like SCPs' in the sense that they can literally be anything, but they cannot be identical to one another. And this leaves the specters to be literally anything the author wants really. The story has this lingering mystery factor because of the post-apocalyptic setting where the mc is, besides trying to save humanity, is also trying to uncover what happened to the world for it to end up in the post-apocalyptic setting it currently is in. the fighting in this story is pretty well written, its succinct to the point where it isn't confusing, at least personally. And the mc uses his brain and thinks about his actions, which lead to very satisfying battle scenes. personally I believe the story has a lot of potential, but Nicks' mindset and mentality really needs to get better as it does make a lot of readers drop it. If you persist through like the first 400 chapters, it does get to a point where his mindset and mentality isn't bad. And I would personally push through as the story is heading in a great direction with the recent chapters. As for the rating, I would give it a 4. 2/5. I would recommend it.
Post-Apocalyptic power fantasy with unique world and power system, as previous authors novel were kinda bad when it comes to power system this one is orginal but easy to follow. MC is weird he goes threw a metamorphosis. Side characters are almost not existant. Romance is a no no as on chapter 470. I really like it i reccomend reading it
Ok, I understand what makes you hate this story so much like the main character being hypocritical, crazy, and prone to self-destruction but if I try to look at it a little more objectively, with the head is a little colder and my current self-reflection. Perhaps in the words describing Nick, somewhere I can see myself inside. Have you ever felt guilty? Have you ever felt hypocritical? Have you ever felt regretful after doing something sinful? I do and I accept myself with all the sins I have to continue to become a better person.
Amazing novel, unique themes and complex character. Warmaisech is absolutely incredible and this is my personal favorite novel. anyone disagreeing can read some braindead cultivation trash with a boring op mc.

People can disagree without reading sh*tt*r cultivation novels, just some food for thought.
You'll see a lot of rants on here by quite a number of people saying the MC is hypocrisy at its finest and depressed and has noble ideals . All this is true but one thing to note is that people always read books expecting something or play out scenarios in their mind of how THEY want the story to develop if not intentional subconscious, meaning the novel is predictable and when this doesn't happen a reader is less attached to the story hence why a lot people say GREAT BEGINNING turned sh*t and that's where this novel stands out, anything can happen during intense chapters and this shows a very distinct connection to how things do happen, nothing is controlled absolutely nothing during tense situations. The novel is expected to be long hence the character has a lot of time to change too. I'd also like to say all the personality shifts the MC has gone through are perfectly justified. A lot of hate also comes from people attached to a CERTAIN character being killed . Probably not a review but a counter to the hate honestly I'm not even a fan of the author only having read Sword god for a while before dropping but I have to come to accept that anything can take place and that is the writing style of the author which I respect . Thank you .

You sir are based as f*ck. Tbh I thought the mc was the only downside to the story but it's too good for me to care about it
5/5 for the story but honestly the writing is sh*t even for webnovel standard. You can go in expect to read singular sentences framed as a paragraph. 50 of this novel's chapter is like 10 of any other novel. The MC has a personality that's not popular with readers (or anyone). He's seriously depressed and suicidal for a good number of chapters. He's also a hypocrite of the highest degree. But his development itself is well written even if the trajectory is going downhill. Why 5* after a seemingly all negative review? I love MC's personality. He's a depressed little b*tch but at least he cares. That resemblance of goodness already gives +5/10 for his personality

What do you mean "the writing is sh*t even for webnovel standard"? Have you read anything on this website? There's plenty of novels where entire sentences don't make sense. And plenty more were writters keep adding stuff "they just thought seemed cool" or "forgot to tell us 50 chaps earlier". In this novel at least you will not have trouble understanding or following the plot. And story seems very coherent and thought out, no?

Right, let me add on to my previous reply. . It's cool how Warmaisach can use the power system from LITOW, yet turn it into something that seemingly hides the fact that it's actually just a Cultivation Realm Ladder. . I was bamboozled when I got to the Archivist and the lore of SGWM part. Like who would've known that it's actually all just a cultivation world without reading LITOW first? . The clear clues to the Abominations being Gravis an all of that. . Quite the masterpiece if you tell me.
'Previous novels were kinda bad when it comes to power system' . . ??? I don't think so, well I mean, it's just normal. . . But next thing you know is that Kill the Sun is actually one of the many worlds in the LITOW verse and they still have to follow the power classification at the end of the day.
