Tell you what, this novel probably has a strong fanbase in the RTS gamer community. The world build, limitations and strategy on display here speak strongly to me as a fan of "Command and Conquer" and "Total War". It isn't a masterclass in continuity, but there is a lot of effort in making the ever expanding world fit as seamlessly into the narrative as possible. With how earnestly the story is being told any fan could pretty easily overlook any minor flaws. Besides, perfect is boring!

One of the best books I've ever read. It's just a masterpiece, but if you don't like slow books, you'll hate this. It's so detailed, and shows basically every inch of the MC's journey to the top. This is the definition of WeakToStrong.

First time reading a novel based around mechs and I enjoy the efforts the author put into them even if they aren’t perfect. I found myself skipping many chapters due to slow pacing and boring arcs, but I still find myself reading. The hair in the soup is unfortunately the MC. My dislike for this character only grows. He can be childish and heartless sometimes. He acts on his emotion and can be hypocritical. I don’t know what the author was thinking when he made him put on a dog collar and act like a dog, and eat from a dog bowl. I skimmed through that chapter as I couldn’t bear reading it. The MC has been displayed to be ‘badass’ or power in status, and only to make him enjoy doing that act and being submissive just rubs me the wrong way. I’m pretending this never happened and hopefully this kind of sh*t doesn’t happen again.

Lowkey that chapter was some of the most disturbing sh*t I ever read

If you hate submissive MCs (Which Ves is not), you should definitely Check out shadow slave, a book i cannot stand. It's crazy so many people like it.

To be honest shadow slave was peak for me before the author made the chapters way shorter. Then its all downhill from there. I mean the story is still rly good but it changed and its not my cup of tea 100% anymore

If you're looking for longer sci-fi I'd recommend Legendary Mechanic. Sci-fi action/adventure that eventually moves into mechs. Video game isekai that I think is done really well

I bloody love TLM! I feel like it's a different story though after the 200's. Mech Touch has the same kind of thing, 1-29 is very different from 30-100, 101-166 is aftermath of 30-100, 157-200 when he meats Lord Kane, and the whole Groening mission is different, 201-415 is a different, The Draft-Ch.416-to the end of the war-Ch.966-Is in my opinion, still, the best Arc in the Novel! And it just keeps going, the the Arcs ebb and flow ranging from 100 chapters to 2,000(Current Arc) I truly think, that The Mech touch is one of the best Sci-Fi story's ever made. And if you can give it a shot, you might hate it, but you you love it enough to read 6k chapters like I have.

I haven't seen something like this before, original and good. I hope they continue on making excellent work like this, the characters are lacking a bit in life though.

Before anyone read the mech touch, its not similar to the other webnovels, this is more of a (space) opera. To simpily put its like seeing someone life progress from a third person perspective. Other novels are like seeing a snippet of their life. This isn't a novel for people who like fast to medium length books with action, this is a long novel thats going to take along time to read, but the payout is worth it. Seeing Ves progress and go from nothing to one of the top leaders in society (getting there) is an amazing feeling to the reader. : There are a lot of fillers (most of which you can skip and it doesn't affect the reading that much)

Funny how I skipped no filler. I've gone at this book, word for word. A lovely experience.

The Mech Touch is a great novel. The characters are great (Despite people's complaints about Ves I find him an okay person) The story is slow, but for most of the arcs there have been interesting or exciting developments. Keeping someone interested in a novel for over 5000 chapters is hard, and I admit that I got bored during certain arcs or chapters and skimmed over them, but overall the novel is well written and a great read. The flow of the story is amazing for the most part The world building is interesting and very large scale The progression/power system is actually incredibly diverse and intriguing, especially later when there begin to be elements of cultivation The System actually also takes a backseat for a lot of the story, and the MC doesn't rely on his system when he becomes stronger. Overall a really good Sci-Fi novel that I'd recommend to everyone. Stick with the book and you'll get to the good parts. Thanks for reading my review!

I think people dislike Ves, because he's a psycho who's a bit of a hypocrite, and he's weak-to-the-strong, and strong-to-the-weak. I like Ves because how he got to be those things, he broke during the Vesian War; psycho. Does regularly in the start, and ever so often now, say something is wrong or bad. and then does it. Or he'll tell someone they can't do something, then does it in front of them; hypocrite. For the last two, in a world where someone can flick their fingers, and you turn to red paste, you kinda have to grovel a little bit; weak-to-the-strong. And Ves has been taken advantage of so many times, he learned how to fleece someone for everything they have have to get ahead; strong-to-the-weak.

The Mech Touch in my opinion is WAY TOO SLOW. Like if you read this, it has the worst pacing imaginable. I don’t need 5, 000 chapters or. 10, 000. But hey, it helps waste my time. Generally, I don‘t like some aspects of this novel, mainly the pacing, but it is acceptable. Also please give me more compact pov right now at chapter 3800 please. 4. 69/5

the mech touch is a pretty straight forward light novel that features a protagonist named Ves Larkinson. Ves Larkinson has a hunger for knowledge and suddenly receives the "metal scroll. " this metal scroll gives him a leg up in the mechanic building world. ves is slowly hoping to become both the best and creative designer . his ambition has no bounds, he can be smart, cunning, deceptive, serious, a manipulator, and uses relationships to claw at chances for growth follow ves on his journey as he constantly pushed the needle of NORMs and shatters the status quo. expect a ton of arcs, character growth and development. mecha battles in space and on land the writing style is pretty traditional. speed readers can crush a page in about 30 seconds to 2 minutes per page.

I feel the 2 minutes thing, I thought the chapters were just short, but then I did a word count and they're over 2000 words per chapter, so speed reading in 2 minutes is the norm for me.

Only in early stages, 300 odd. So far I’m loving the story and progression. It steadily increases and you see where it’s all coming from, instead of where you just have overpowered mc. It’s also nice how the “main” skills are not fully set in stone and get added to as story progresses. This allows for lots of future growth. Many types future storylines are hinted at so far and will be good to see where they head. The thought that there’s still over 4K+ chaps and still ongoing makes me very happy. It’s also fun to try read between lines and think about what’s coming in future chapters, which I have many comments on after certain chapters. Fun to see if they plan out. 5* for me , best read I’ve had so far on here and looking forward to continue reading.

Seeing as this was 6 month ago, I assume you've read through the first K? If so what were your thoughts on the entire Vesian War Arc? 5,663 chapters in, Ch.416-966 are still my favorite! Not because the rest are bad, the author get's better and better by leaps and bounds every thousand chapters, it's just that the Vesian War was so good for me I can't like the rest more. I'll be re-reading the whole Novel this month, so I might see your past comments, I wonder how many things you guessed right! There's also the chance you dropped the Novel in the past half year, if so why? I'm not saying you have to read it, just curious. I think it has some true greatness inside it's words, and for being a mindless Mech Novel, it asks far reaching and deep questions now and again. So if you have dropped it, give it another try, and if it's not your cup of tea, I hope you can find a Novel you love. Cheers!
