Could someone please accurately describe the plot because I don't understand the synopsis. I am trying to decide whether or not to read it, but don't want to waste time reading something that doesn't align with my tastes.

MC is transported to another world while playing a horror/action/mystery game after completing it. The class that he gets is deeply connected to Cthulhu mythos universe. After transmigrating he works as mercenary/problem solver and tries to survive the situations these insane deities put him in. The premise is exciting but the writing was boring. I dropped it in 118 chapters.

I feel like I have read this novel before but I can't remember which one was it 🤔 it has the same starting but changes have been made to it like how this one is that he escaped an experimental facility and the one I read before escaped a factory met a girl that gives him jobs and the first job he gets Is to track someone just like in this one I can't remember really well but it's just really similar 🤔

I finally did my review of this novel, it gave me relief in my soul, it's like going to an imaginary bathroom after a long day of holding it and then doing number 1.

I love good Lovecraftian stuff, but looking at the tags (mainly the system one) kinda makes me leery of it. Systems are all about empowerment of the MC, but that is entirely antithetical to cosmic horror in the first place. I mean to begin with, in cosmic horror, you can only either get the bad end, or manage to delay the coming of the bad end for a few hundred years. You can't kill Cthulhu or Nyarlathotep, only stop the cultists from summoning them or temporarily prevent them from fully manifesting their avatar.

Indeed, I've read up until to 106, it doesn't seem like he can kill god and his OP stats and knowledge have carried him, but it has bit by bit start to lose its importance, every fight, literally the gods will try to intervene every fight and he can only try to drive them away and make stuff to repel the memories, although it does seem like he will come at a point where he will ascend godhood lol, as of now the author has stopped updating 3months ago and stopped at 150

So it does more-or-less end up with that sort of OP protagonist stuff that is antithetical to cosmic horror then. Glad I didn't pick this up. I just wish there were more authors who could write cosmic horror correctly.

I'm sure there has, but its most likely buried under a pile of trash, also this book would've been OK if he didn't have his knowledge about the game, it just made him seem like some sort of psycho in a sense, cuz even when he was transported into the world itself, his behaviour and the words he says sometimes suggest that he still thinks he is in a game, which p*ss*s me off, like he is serious about everything else, but there is this sense of disconnect every now and then that breaks the immersion, atleast thats how it seemed to me. - Cosmis horror huh, well LOTM does have that element, for some reason ( i know but i wont tell) a lot of gods in the universe are hovering around or hanging out near Post apocalyptic Earth.

Hallelujah, the comments are back, now I can release a little bit of what I've been holding onto because of this lightnovel, but I'll do that in the reviews tab.

I like it. It very similar to another "Genius Mage" LightNovel but this one completely changes the setting and plot. So you have a character with similar abilities in a different setting!
